Arizona State Parks

As many of you have read our State has been cutting deeply into its budget and one of the big loosers is our State Parks. Many of the Parks have closed or are open on limited days. Many of you have been great supporters of the Plein Air Painting in the AZ State Parks program now in it's third year. The creator of this program is Mary Alice Daenzer. Her department of Education in the Parks has been cut, meaning she has lost her job. Mary Alice did not just work for the State Parks but was passionate in their promotion. Since that whole department has been cut there is no one to take up the Painting in the Parks program. APAP and TPAPS have been great in support and participation in these monthly events. APAP is discussing how we might keep this program going- it is more important than ever. If you would like to help with this contact Cody Delong or Cindy Carrillo.
The November paint out at the Boyce Thompson Arboretum is on for Thanksgiving weekend. Chcck out the Az State Parks website for details. Think about buying a membership at your favorite park, you will be helping keep our beautiful Arizona.
