New to the Blog?

APAP has several new members and many have just signed up onto our blog. Welcome to APAP and to using our blog. This is where we try to post the most up to date information. It is far easier than posting on the website so please check back often for new posts. Thank you to Barbara Donahue for hosting our General Meeting. Barbara is so gracious and always makes us feel welcome at her ranch. Even the wind doesn't stop plein air painters. Hopefully you met some new folks and reunited with old friends.
Thanks to the folks that came down to paint at the Farm at South Mountain- if you missed it you are welcome to come down anytime and paint on the grounds. The painting here is of Mayas Garden there at the Farm. 32nd St. south of Baseline- good food-good painting subjects-

On a past post we listed the 2010 sites for the Arizona State Parks paintouts. As you all well know there is no budget this year and we are just thankful that some of the Parks are still open. Please consider purchasing a pass to your favorite park. If you see one of your favorites on this years list would you consider being a host for that paintout? All it takes is a friendly disposition to greet the artists. There is no competition this year, just go paint. Please tell your artist friends to come along and join you. Let Cindy Carrillo know if you would like to be host for any of this years painting days- Subject line: APAP.
Thank you for joining APAP- now go paint!

July Paint Out at Flagstaff Arboretum

Arizona Plein Air Painters and the Flagstaff Arboretum  will once again sponsor a paint-out in the cool pines of northern Arizona.  The dates this year are Sunday, June 27th 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Monday morning June 28th, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.  Space is limited each day to 20 painters.  Those who wish to paint should e-mail Dawn Sutherland .  Indicate the days you wish to paint.

Artists may leave their work to be hung in the Arboretum's gallery.  That show will hang from June 28th to July 30th.  Each participant will be responsible for labeling their paintings and picking up their paintings on July 30th.

If you're arriving by the freeway, take I-40 westbound from Flagstaff and take exit #192.  Go south for 1/2 mile to Kiltie.  East on Kiltie to the next intersection Woody Mountain Road.  South on Woody Mountain road for about 4  miles and watch for the Arboretum signs.

A reminder, no one may enter the grounds until the gate is officially opened at 9 a.m.
