3-day workshop in the Tubac area. Beginner - intermediate pastel or oil 9am-4pm.

In each plein air workshop, Michael focuses on the fundamentals for painting
outdoors - how to begin, how to proceed and how to finish. Learn how to
capture the moment efficiently and effectively without sacrificing mood and
magic. The workshop will include demonstrations, plenty of time for student
work plus daily critiques. Michael gives personal attention at the easel,
complete with helpful tips and suggestions.

Only $180 for 3-day workshop minimum of 5 students max of 10.

Deposit of $100 needed no latter than Dec 10th. Deposit refundable upon cancellation of class.

LOIS GRIFFEL

Please join me and Lois Griffel for a workshop in Tubac, Arizona.

Feb 7-10, 2011

Lois has just completed her second book, painting Impressionist Color. She bases her workshops on many of the new ideas presented in the book, such as painting with brushes,
easier grasp on the color theory as applied to familiar painting techniques. Lois told me she has seen amazing results in half the time from her workshops in the past 3 years.

I will be providing directions, supplies and travel tips, and other workshop information . Following is a description. general plan for the workshop and and other pertinent

"Painting the Impressionist Landscape" - A Slide Presentation by Lois Griffel at 4:30 PM. Location to be announced.

Lois Griffel's workshops are based on her books, "Painting the Impressionist Landscape". The slide presentation introduces how she interprets light and uses color for
expressing it in nature. She will also talk about color perception, control of masses and values, with an emphasis on design and composition.
Complimentary wine and cheese will be available.
The presentation is open to the public, but please let us know if you are bringing additional friends or family.

Monday, Feb 7 9:00-4PM

We will meet at a designated location where Lois will begin with an overview on color theory and how we will approach our plein air paintings/studies for the workshop.
The introduction usually last until lunch, and it is advised to bring chairs, notebooks and cameras. After lunch, we will painting .
Painting locations for the following day will be discussed at the end of each day.

Lois gives many impromptu demonstrations throughout the workshop, as well as constant and individual instruction and attention.
