Thanks for the Opportunity

Heartfelt thanks to all those who are on active duty and have served our country so that we can study art, draw and paint, travel about and record the living world, and appreciate the artwork of others in safety and freedom.

Rita Goldner nabbed second place in the Arizona State Fair’s Mural Contest. The theme was Arizona’s State Centennial 1912-2012. Congratulations!

Sandi Ciaramitaro, organizer of last month’s fun Oil Painters of America Paint-Out invites everyone to the Winter Holiday Plein Air Art Exhibition at The Artist's Studio at The Farm in Phoenix, December 10-11, 2011, 9 am to 3 pm each day.

Artists who participated during the October event will be exhibiting and selling artwork created during the earlier paint-out. Arizona Plein Air Painters were well-represented at that event, so here’s an opportunity to see and purchase fresh works from APAP’s fine artists.

Anyone who spots Arizona Centennial-related artist opportunities, please email me with details asap so we can post them here. Also, we need volunteers to host future paint-outs. This is an easy task – pick your favorite spot, let me know when you’d like to do it and who’s invited, and we’ll do the advertising for you.

Check back often to see information on upcoming events – the APAP Board of Directors is meeting November 12, and we’ll have news soon about new board members and dates for the 2012 Arizona Plein Air Painters Members’ Show in Sedona.

News, events, invitations, and photos for this blog may be sent to Sandy Farley - farleystudios(at)cox.net.
Happy Veterans Day!
