Cool Arizona Events Beckon Plein Air Artists

Congratulations to winners of our Fall Plein Air Show at the Art Alliance Gallery in Scottsdale!  You can see a slideshow and list of winners on our website: http://www.arizonapleinairpainters.com.  Diane Scholar and Gary Binder did a wonderful job organizing and managing this show, and we received many compliments on the quality of work.
Managers of the Arizona Art Alliance Gallery told me they'd love to see more work from our members in upcoming shows.  It requires only that you jury in, and the benefits are many.  Members, check your email for forms to apply, or contact our AAA Representative Rita Goldner.

Tucson artist Geri Acosta took First Place honors with her plein air work "New Mexico's Finest"

Upcoming Paint-Outs:
Saturday, October 19  Red Rock Crossing, Sedona, AZ
Saturday, November 2  Dead Horse Ranch State Park, Cottonwood, AZ
As always, details are on our Upcoming Paintouts, Shows & Events page on our website:
Eric Slayton has enjoyed a busy schedule showing around the country this Fall, and is currently exhibiting at Mountain Artist Guild's Gallery in Prescott through November 1st.  If you have a chance stop by, enjoy his beautiful paintings, and take a look at the gallery itself.  This gallery will be the location of our Annual Members' Exhibition next year, and we have Eric to thank for his suggestion and assistance in acquiring space in MAG's Gallery.

A message from Rita Goldner:
A lady who runs farmers' produce markets in Carefree, 35th and Cactus, Hilton Village, and a few other places, is opening a new one in Community Park, 3151 North Litchfield Rd., between Thomas Rd. and Indian School Rd. in Avondale, AZ.  Opening day is Saturday, Oct 26, 8:00 AM to noon, and they will run every Saturday after that. They want plein air painters to come, and asked me to spread the word. You can set up anywhere and paint the veggies and/or the people. They will have a free 10x10 tent to sell your paintings if you want. Painters who sell can use the market's credit card machine if they pay the service fee, less than 4%.
Her name is Carole DeCosmo 623-695-9614 and she asks that if people want to come, call her so she'll know to set up the tent.

We received this press release via email.  I cannot vouch for this organization, but offer it here for your consideration:
